How to Teleport ========== 1) Left-Click on the teleport platform -- OR -- Right-Click on the platform and select TELEPORT from the PIE menu. [Teleport Begins] (Additional step for Networked Teleporters) 2) When a teleporter is in networked mode, you will be presented with a menu containing destinations. Choose a destination from the menu. [Teleport Begins] (Additional step for Pay-to-Teleport destinations) 3) When in Pay-to-Teleport mode, a notice will appear reminding the traveler to pay the votex the Fee. Left-Click the vortex and select PAY from the PIE menu. [Teleport Begins] How to Setup ========= Stand Alone Mode -------------------- 1) Place a teleporter at the desired location. 2) Change the object name to the name of the destination. Do not use numbers in the name. ie " My Sky Box " 3) Change the object description to the x, y, z coordinates the teleporter is to take the passenger. ie. " 128, 128, 4000 " 4) Use the PIE menu to TOUCH the teleporter. The text above the teleporter will change to the new destination's name to indicate the change has been registered. NOTE: To get the destination coordinates for Stand Alone Mode, just stand at the desired destination and read your status line for your current location. Networked Mode ------------------- 1) Place a teleporter at the desired location. 2) Change the object name to the name of THIS location. Do not use numbers in the name. ie " My Sky Box " 3) Change the object description to a unique network name. Use only alpha and numerical characters in the name. ie " MyNet123 " 4) Use the PIE menu to TOUCH the teleporter. The text above the teleporter will change to the new destination's name to indicate the change has been registered. 5) Repeat these steps for each location you want to be included in your teleporter network. Private Mode (optional) -------------------------- A private teleporter will only permit the owner to teleport to the destination. If a teleporter is not set as Private it will be Public. Anyone can use a Public teleporter. Private Mode can be used with both Stand Alone and Networked Modes. 1) To make a teleporter private place an "*" in the Name of the Destination. ie " * My Sky Box " 2) Use the PIE menu to TOUCH the teleporter. The text above the teleporter will change to the new destination's name including a "*" to indicate the change has been registered. Pay-to-Teleport Mode (optional) ----------------------------------- A fee can be collected from the traveler before they teleport by setting a price in the teleporter name. If a teleporter is not set to collect a Fee, it will be free to teleport. Pay-to-Teleport Mode can be used with both Stand Alone and Networked Modes. 1) To collect a FEE before teleporting, place a "$" in the Name of the Destination followed by the price. ie " $50 My Sky Box " 2) Use the PIE menu to TOUCH the teleporter. The text above the teleporter will change to the new destination's name including a price to indicate the change has been registered. Changing the Colours (optional) ----------------------------------- Changing the colour on top of the teleporter pad will change the particle colour. 1) Right-Click the teleporter. Select EDIT from the PIE menu. 2) Select "Texture" from the radio buttons at the top of the EDIT Dialog box. 3) Select "Texture" from the TABs of the EDIT Dialog box. 4) Click on the top Surface of the Teleporter. 5) Select a new colour, and close the edit Dialog Box. 6) Use the PIE menu to TOUCH the teleporter. The text above it will change to the new colour to indicate the change has been registered. >>> Now the teleporter will use the new colour for it's particle effects. Changing the Animation (optional) -------------------------------------- You can replace the animation inside the teleporter with any animation of your choice. 1) Right-Click the teleporter. Select EDIT from the PIE menu. 2) Select "Content" from the TABs of the EDIT Dialog box. 3) Delete the Animation "stand firm" from the contents. 4) Drag an animation from your inventory into the Contents. 5) Close the EDIT dialog box. Turning OFF Particles (optional) ---------------------------------- If you would like to remove the particle effect when teleporting, delete the "Particles" script from the contents. 1) Right-Click the teleporter. Select EDIT from the PIE menu. 2) Select "Content" from the TABs of the EDIT Dialog box. 3) Delete the Script "Particles" from the contents. 4) Close the EDIT dialog box. Turning OFF the RINGS (optional) ------------------------------------ If you would like to remove the Rings effect when teleporting, delete the "rings" object from the contents 1) Right-Click the teleporter. Select EDIT from the PIE menu. 2) Select "Content" from the TABs of the EDIT Dialog box. 3) Delete the Object "rings" from the contents. 4) Close the EDIT dialog box. BONUS - Teleporter POD usage ---------------------------------- The Quantum Teleporter comes in two versions. One with visible rings (v4.xx R) and one with transparent rings (v4.xx RT). An optional POD is supplied called "Pod ADD-ON (Quantum Teleporter)". You can place this POD around either of the above teleporter discs as a prop to improve the appearance. This teleporter is designed to operate with a number of other props that you can obtain from the Quantum Products Shop in the region Quantum.
