History of Quantum Weapons
Original Quantum Sceptre v1.00 - (Push, Cage, Kill)
The crystal in this first version would burn out and turn black if someone tried to attack me with it.
I only saw this happen once when I met some random guy who was being rude.
When I told him to go away he pulled out the Quantum Sceptre and tried to attack me.
I watched as it turned black, and I asked him "who did you buy that faulty weapon from".
He checked the creator and we both had a good laugh about it.
Quantum Sceptre v1.50 - (Push, Cage, Kill, Spy, Sensor Cache)
This version was only made available as an upgrade to very few people because I didn't have a registration server.
Unreleased Quantum Sceptre which included the first NPV
Unleased Quantum Security Badge
Unreleased Design that combined the badge with a crystal
This design ended up being integrated into a later model as the iconic crystal shield.
Quantum Core v2.xx - First badge version released with the big crystal ball hidden inside your avatar.
Added the security badge to the ball part from the Quantum Sceptre.
Renamed to Quantum Core as it was the "Core" part of the Quantum Sceptre.
All those little balls inside were needed to orbit people at a speed of 1 million meters per second!
This was my first popular model which provided a fair number of powerful functions.
After almost a year in SL I was able to pay the tier on my land with the money I made from sales.
Unreleased v3.xx Design
This one was totally beautiful. It looked like a perfume bottle filled with crystals which were
emitting energy that flowed into the badge at the top.
I wanted the crystals to be where people would see them so I redesigned it.
Quantum Core v3.00
First HUD version. It came with a very pretty HUD that was HUGE!!!
In this version the little orbit balls were replaced by the 30 little crystals around the outside.
This was the first product I sold with Life Time Upgrades, as I had added a registration system.
This model included my iconic crystal shield that expands out from your body.
It was the first shield system in SL to defeat phantom bullets, making you un-killable in combat.
This model was still worn as a badge, and was the first to be sold in major weapons shops.
Quantum Core Belt Buckle Design & First Slim Line HUD
This was the revolutionary HUD design that some people are STILL copying!
This was also the first HUD in SL to let you independently select the weapon and the victim. Then press Go or Stop.
This was the first HUD in SL to use a single prim for text and background while being able to adjust the text height over the button.
This HUD also included popup help pages for all menu screens. Yet another revolutionary idea that is still being copied by others.
This was also the first time we saw the ALL button for targeting people which lead to the griefer tool reputation.
Quantum Core v3.4.x - First Havok4 version, released just before havok4 hit the main grid.
Quantum Core was the first weapon to be fully havok4 compliant.
A retextured belt buckle attachment with all new functions designed for havok4.
This release was the first in SL to included a gun that literally let you shoot any HUD based weapon at people.
Quantum Core v3.4.x was stolen using a permission exploit in 2008. It was replaced with a new product called QHUD.
QHUD v4.xx retained the original belt buckle, but no longer needed any visible body attachment to function.
QHUD was a total re-write of the Quantum Core, resulting in a new design, and an interface no other HUD had.
I marked the QHUD design as "setting the new standard", and it wasn't long before people were copying this design too!
This is a preview of the new Belt Buckle attachment due to be released with QHUD Version 5.00
So Pretty!!!
Creating original products is not something that you suddenly do over night.
It takes years or work. Failed models. Listening to customers. And a slow evolution.
When you see a product turn up in the market that looks identical to one of mine
without years of history and development behind it, you need to ask yourself one question....
Was that product Designed or Copied?
